Today, Tennesseans for Sensible Election Laws endorsed Tennessee Education Association field organizer Antoinette Lee in her bid for the Metro Council District #33 seat vacated by former Councilman Sam Coleman, now a General Sessions Court judge.
“Ms. Lee has campaigned on ensuring that residents of Antioch have a strong voice in their local government, and we endeavor to help her protect their ability to participate fully in the political process” said TSEL Treasurer George Scoville. “Our board strongly believes in southeast Nashvillians’ rights to hold the Council and the Mayor accountable, and we look forward to continuing our dialogue with Ms. Lee to make sure they can do so without unreasonable interference from the state.”
Ms. Lee will face financial advisor Tim Herndon in a special election next week on September 19.
